Louise Aitken has a special gift for capturing the essence and personality of cats and dogs. She works in several mediums including pen & ink, watercolor, oil, pastel and colored pencil. She lives with her husband, Eric, and several cats who think they are children and who model for her on demand—actually she works from photos, because cats have a mind of their own. You can see portraits of some of her animals in pen & ink, enhanced by watercolor as well as other art works at the Center for the Arts on Penrod Road in Show Low. She also accepts commissions.
